Or are you stuck in a nightmare?
I’m going to admit that I did not dream of the life I’m currently living. Let’s be honest and break it down. Two divorces, three continents, four children, and a dysfunctional background. Nobody in their right mind would have dreamed of the path I took to get where I am today.
And I would only change a couple of things.
It’s all a learning experience. And I believe that most of my story will be told through various posts here in the future – but now is not that time.
I wonder what percentage of people in the world today are actually “living the dream”, as opposed to just saying that they are, or projecting a lifestyle they wish they had? It would definitely be in the single digits.
But you don’t have to live a dream to be happy with the lifestyle you have. Sure, I’d change some things about my life right now if I could snap my fingers and accomplish those changes. My daughter would have a bigger bedroom. My dog wouldn’t pee in the house. My roof wouldn’t have two gaping holes that let the rain in. My garden wouldn’t be full of weeds. My freezer would be defrosted. And heck, while we’re at it, I’d be 100 lbs lighter. But when all is said and done, I’m not miserable. I don’t have a big list of wants and needs. I have a roof over my head, a place to sleep, and food in my belly. I even have a few dollars in the bank to last me until payday on Friday.
And I may be living someone’s dream.
How about you? What are your dreams?
