I love you.

I love you!All you need is love!

My good friend and Isa-partner Jace Jacobs has a great podcast called The Good Refresh, and I just listened to episode 9 and experienced a huge outpouring of the old amore.

As I listened, I got the warm fuzzies when I heard Jace say “I love you!”, and really felt his passion when I listened to the story of how he instilled love into his children.

Jace really bares his heart as he tells us what he loves, how he loves, and even why he loves. It’s a “quick” listen – if you have 15 minutes to spare, you can fit it in! Or do what I do – listen on your commute, listen while you’re exercising, listen while you’re cooking dinner – any way you can, just listen!

According to Sophocles, “One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is love.”

Jace asks “What does love mean to you?”

Well, hey Jace! To me, it’s a pure feeling which makes you unafraid to open your soul and air out your feelings, because love is non-judgmental.

It is not conditional – you don’t say “I’ll love you if …”. You just love. Period.

Love is the one thing left standing when everything else around you crumbles, and love is the foundation you rebuild on.

On being in love

British author, Neil Gaiman, sums it up pretty well for me, in his novel The Sandman, Vol 9: The Kindly Ones … “Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn’t it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up.”

Now you’ve heard Jace’s thoughts, and you’ve heard my thoughts. So, what does love mean to you?
